You’ve been bitten by the bug, and you’re trying to decide which specialty course comes next? Or you’ve just completed your open water qualification and would like to gain more knowledge and experience in the underwater world?

Well, the perfect answer to those questions and more is EXPLORER 30. This course is an exciting, fun program designed to increase your skills and understanding of the important core areas of diving.

EXPLORER 30 is light on academics and heavy on diving. As an EXPLORER 30 student, you’ll make five dives and have time to enjoy your journey, and to practice the skills specific to each of the five dives.

The course requires three core dives (Deep (with a Trimix option), Navigation, Buoyancy), and two electives from a list of a dozen possible options. All of these dives have been designed to expand on the knowledge and skills learned during RAID‘s Open Water 20 course. Some, buoyancy, for example, some students find helps them refine a skill that sets them divers apart and gives them a level of competence and comfort in the water that takes traditionally-trained buddies, dozens of dives to master.

The RAID Explorer 30 program is the PERFECT choice for continuing your diving education, with plans to engage in even more advanced training in the future.

How Do I Get My Certification?

To earn your Explorer 30 certification, you need to read the manuals for each section and complete the quizzes. Once you have passed all the quizzes, you can proceed to the exam. They will arrange your class and in-water sessions and help you with equipment advice or purchases.

Prerequisites

You will be required to a complete some mandatory paperwork which consists of a dive medical questionnaire, a liability release, and a safe diving practices form. If there are any potential medical issues, you will need to complete a medical form signed by a licensed physician prior to participating in any in-water sessions. Once you have registered with RAID, you can access all the required paperwork online in Your Profile.
